Sep 02, 2014It was my first trip to Fredericksburg in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. I was so excited to take the much needed girls trip! Here are a few of my favorite tid bits:I got to visit the much-anticipated one of a kind emporium, Uncommon Objects in Austin. It’s been on my bucket list for a while now. Aug 27, 2014Earlier this Summer I was invited to the 14th Remnants of the Past antiques and vintage show at their new location at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, California. It’s always such a blast and honor to be a part of Judy’s show. The vendors are carefully juried; and she does an amazing job of attracting the BEST ones.I had the pleasure of reconnecting with a lot of old friends, and meeting some new ones. I was finally able to meet and hug Flea Market Style...Read more →

May 27, 2014We've all got 'em, right? Those flea market finds we had big plans for. The broken table we thought we'd fix last Summer, the vintage wheels we were gonna turn into a chandelier and the old dresser we meant to refinish for the guest bedroom. Ki Nassauer has a whole trunk full (as you can see in the above photo) and her garage happens to be pretty packed too! Lockers, end tables, old boards and more! Maybe if we all made a pact to finish one project a month, these cool items wouldn't...Read more →
May 19, 2014We know it's not Thursday (#tbt), but here's a throwback blog from when I was creating projects for the Bachman's Ideas House:The Bachman's Ideas House is filled with clever and practical uses for vintage objects - most that can be found easily and purchased for next to nothing. Here's a couple of my favorite projects. In the upstairs bathroom, I repurposed two old wooden hangers as towel bars. By anchoring a scrap piece of dowel to the wall before the hanger was attached with 2 screws,...Read more →
May 09, 2014Happy Mother's Day from me to you!A little over 3 years ago I decided to leave Minnesota and move to Los Angeles to be close to my 2 awesome "kids" (they are both grown ups now)! There's really something to be said about living close to your children and I've enjoyed every moment of it. My kids know that along with riding my horse, drinking a crisp glass of chardonnay and watching Hallmark movies; one of my very favorite things to do (obviously!) is shop the flea market! We started a...Read more →

Apr 07, 2014A few weeks back, we took a break on a Thursday to go vintage shopping and check out a new place we heard about. We headed to Long Beach, CA to Urban Americana. It's about 45 minutes from Los Angeles (when the traffic is light!) but it's definitely worth the drive. The owner, Chris Geer, clearly has a passion for vintage and is dedicated to creating a cool, fun, open and inspiring place to shop. He also just happens to be a super nice guy! Chris' 16,000...Read more →
Mar 11, 2014Be honest... are you a vintage purist? Or do you let the occasional reproduction sneak into your collection or home? Sometimes it takes an expert eye to differentiate the real thing from a repro- and even we've been fooled a time or two! Do you think it matters? If you love it, do you care if it's real or not? Maybe there are specific items you are picky about and some you let slide by without authenticity. If that's the case- what are the items you are particular about and which are ok...Read more →
