  • Vintage Shopping Trip to Orange, CA!

Orange, CA is a quick one-hour drive from our Los Angeles office, so we decided to play hooky for a day and go vintage shopping! Can you blame us? We used FleaQuest to pick the two best stores in the area, as we needed to make it a short trip and be back to LA before traffic started! Our first stop, Country Roads Antiques, came highly recommended.
The antique mall held approximately 60 vendors, some with multiple booths, and the selection was varied, unique and of high quality. Here are a few of our favorite finds:
Ki collects oil paintings, so these caught our eye. Especially since the woman looks like a young Ki!
Here's Taylor testing the comfort level of this vintage upholstered chair. Like her junk love tee? Purchase here!
Vanessa's purchases from Country Roads included woodland animal figurines for her nursery and Ki snagged a few items for upcoming issues of Flea Market Style magazine.
All the shopping made us hungry, so we decided to get bite to eat. We had previously asked folks on Facebook what the best lunch spot in Orange is. The winner? Rutabegorz!
The restaurant is located in a house, so it felt cozy and the food was great. The highlight for us though, was definitely the hysterical "bathroom." It was actually not a bathroom, but rather a "mermaid's lounge." It's a must-see.
Once refueled we headed to Down Home Antiques. We were greeted with friendly smiles from the shop owner and her associate. We were happy to learn they were fans of Flea Market Style magazine! Their shop had creative displays and the product was thoughtfully curated.
Here are some of our favorite items:
    Creepy, huh??!!
Ki purchased this heavy cement deer for $65. He looks cute peering out her front window!
Deer in tow, it was time to head home. Our vintage shopping trip was a success, but we know there's more to see in Orange, CA. Hopefully we can get back soon. Have YOU shopped in Orange? Let us know what we missed!

These are two of my favorite stores in Orange! Peggy and Don at Down Home are such lovely people, and Blossoms Vintage Chic’s space at Country Roads is just sigh-worthy!

Other ‘not to be missed’ spots that I’d recommend are ‘The Victoria Company’ (filled with bright, colorful, happy artisan wares each season, curated by the equally bright and happy owner Donna!) and the elegantly charming ‘Paris In a Cup’ Tea Salon, owned by Cheryl Turner. They feature tea, desserts, soups, sandwiches – and truffles! These shops are located across the street from one another, on Glassel Street just a few doors down from ‘The Circle’.
