  • Product Review: Rust-Oleum Spray Paint

We had this cool vintage lamp that we spray painted white for Taylor's wedding. She used the lamps to display table numbers. (See the newest issue of Flea Market Style magazine Spring 2014 for the wedding story) It's now post-wedding and we've decided to re-purpose the lamp yet again. Taylor needs a lamp on her nightstand in the guest bedroom- but she prefers a more industrial look. We chose to use the Rust-Oleum hammered metal spray paint.
We noticed that the spray paint had great coverage and we only needed one coat. Also, the hammered look was desirable and had a crackly finish- just what we wanted! Once the paint dried, we rewired the lamp with wire from Grand Brass Lamp Parts, Inc. We added a shade from Target and here's the finished lamp:
We would definitely recommend Rust-Oleum spray paint as it made our DIY project quick and easy. Have you spray painted anything recently? If so, share a pic with us!

I cannot wait until our weather is warm (and dry) enough so I can try more of these products.

      Thanks for the info, Ki!

Ha, ha… What don’t I spray paint these days? I seem to be redecorating a lot (ok, we seem to be moving a lot, along with my college girls), and I repurpose so much with Rustoleum Spray Paint and quarts of paint. I love the hammered look as it’s more forgiving since I don’t spend much time prepping the items I want to repaint. Rustoleum paints are perfect for someone like me who just wants instant results!!!

In fact, I have a lamp that I am staring at right now and I want to paint it white. It’s a lamp from the early 80’s maybe? Big and “aged brass”. I think white or maybe black (my go to color these days) is in order!
