• Happy Mother's Day GIVEAWAY!

Happy Mother's Day from me to you!
A little over 3 years ago I decided to leave Minnesota and move to Los Angeles to be close to my 2 awesome "kids" (they are both grown ups now)! There's really something to be said about living close to your children and I've enjoyed every moment of it. My kids know that along with riding my horse, drinking a crisp glass of chardonnay and watching Hallmark movies; one of my very favorite things to do (obviously!) is shop the flea market! We started a Mother's Day tradition when I moved here; we always visit the Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena on Mother's Day. I can't say that the kids enjoy the flea market quite as much as I do, but they don't let it show! They wander the aisles with me and we check out and swoop up fabulous vintage finds. It's super cool to be able to share my passion for all things vintage with the kids.
Even if it's not vintage related, what's YOUR Mother's Day tradition? Tell us here on the blog and we'll pick a winner to receive a $50 gift certificate to the KI NASSAUER Shop! You can decide to give it to mom, or keep it for yourself!
    Cheers! -Ki

My kids are mostly grown now (ages 24,21, 18 and 18) but they still do the same thing every year. Breakfast in bed in the morning, they clean up the kitchen, go to church, then come home and I proceed to lay on the couch all day and be as lazy as humanley possible while they do my bidding. Nothing too strenuous, just get me drinks, turn the channel, fetch my book, rub my feeties. I promise it is the ONLY day of the year I do this! I work two jobs, have a very busy household, but on Mothers day, I do absolutely nothing :) Best Day Ever.

My husband has always been good at photography so each year for Mother’s Day, the only gift I ask for is some sweet pictures with my kids! I love getting creative each year and picking a new backdrop, like last year where we pulled off the side of the road, walked to an Old red barn with some tall grass, and tossed down a blanket and began shooting pics! Not only does it leave me with a great memory, but it is great time with my kids, which is the most special part of being a mother:)

My mother and I always find a way to see each other. The last couple years she has come over for breakfast and we head out shopping….normally to good will and consignment shops.

Our tradition has always been for my children to make me breakfast in bed and my husband cleaning up the mess. They are older now and still do it, but it’s a much more elaborate affair now!

I spend the weekend at my mom’s house since she lives out of town & I just do whatever she wants, go to lunch, attend church on Sunday with her & do some shopping. I just try to make it fun & make some special memories.

My Mom is well on her way to 88 years old and so delightful. Blessed with pretty good health we are still able to get up and go. My tradition with my Mom doesn’t always happen on Mothers Day but it is always near to the day and in honor of Mothers Day. We spend a whole day together. I drive, she rides and she always says, “you are such a good driver”. We visit vintage and thrift stores and eat at small one of a kind restaurants. I love how Mom picks up a vintage treasure and tells me a story about a similar item she had as a kid, or how Grandma (her Mom) had the very same thing. It is a wonderful day and a great way to learn about my family history.
