Sep 02, 2014It was my first trip to Fredericksburg in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. I was so excited to take the much needed girls trip! Here are a few of my favorite tid bits:I got to visit the much-anticipated one of a kind emporium, Uncommon Objects in Austin. It’s been on my bucket list for a while now. (Bucket list adventure blog to follow!)This reminded me our beloved office companion, Beans....
Aug 27, 2014Earlier this Summer I was invited to the 14th Remnants of the Past antiques and vintage show at their new location at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, California. It’s always such a blast and honor to be a part of Judy’s show. The vendors are carefully juried; and she does an amazing job of attracting the BEST ones.I had the pleasure of reconnecting with a lot of old friends, and meeting some new ones. I was finally able to meet and hug Flea Market Style...Read more →

May 27, 2014We've all got 'em, right? Those flea market finds we had big plans for. The broken table we thought we'd fix last Summer, the vintage wheels we were gonna turn into a chandelier and the old dresser we meant to refinish for the guest bedroom. Ki Nassauer has a whole trunk full (as you can see in the above photo) and her garage happens to be pretty packed too! Lockers, end tables, old boards and more! Maybe if we all made a pact to finish one project a month, these cool items wouldn't...Read more →
May 09, 2014Happy Mother's Day from me to you!A little over 3 years ago I decided to leave Minnesota and move to Los Angeles to be close to my 2 awesome "kids" (they are both grown ups now)! There's really something to be said about living close to your children and I've enjoyed every moment of it. My kids know that along with riding my horse, drinking a crisp glass of chardonnay and watching Hallmark movies; one of my very favorite things to do (obviously!) is shop the flea market! We started a...Read more →
Apr 07, 2014A few weeks back, we took a break on a Thursday to go vintage shopping and check out a new place we heard about. We headed to Long Beach, CA to Urban Americana. It's about 45 minutes from Los Angeles (when the traffic is light!) but it's definitely worth the drive. The owner, Chris Geer, clearly has a passion for vintage and is dedicated to creating a cool, fun, open and inspiring place to shop. He also just happens to be a super nice guy! Chris' 16,000...Read more →
Mar 03, 2014We had this cool vintage lamp that we spray painted white for Taylor's wedding. She used the lamps to display table numbers. (See the newest issue of Flea Market Style magazine Spring 2014 for the wedding story) It's now post-wedding and we've decided to re-purpose the lamp yet again. Taylor needs a lamp on her nightstand in the guest bedroom- but she prefers a more industrial look. We chose to use the Rust-Oleum hammered metal spray paint. We noticed that...Read more →

According to Ki, one trip to the Old Glory Antiques Fair just isn't enough! She'll be heading back to Denver, Colorado this year- June 14th & 15th, 2013- to shop, have some fun and sign her magazine, Flea Market Style. Check out the highlights and what Ki had to say about her last trip to Old Glory:

Did you somehow miss the suitcase shelve project in the Flea Market Style magazine Fall/Winter 2011 issue? We highly doubt it, but if so- you're in luck! Here's the skinny on how to re-create Ki Nassauer's suitcase shevles (from her very own living room!) in your home:
You'll need to start with a drab, blank wall like this.
Then, you'll need to grab some super cool hard-sided vintage suitcases like this.
Other materials needed...

Last Friday, we paid a visit to ISS Long Beach for some inspiration for our KiNassauer.com shopping cart! ISS is "your decorated apparel destination" featuring wholesale garment brands and distributors, screen printers and embroiderers. The show also offers classes and a first look at the styles and trends of 2013. How fun!
We are ready to "beef up" (or "tofu up" as I like to say) our online shopping cart this year and we were on the hunt for new styles. Not to mention, Spring 2013 Junk Bonanza is right...
